inrekor technology forever changes the way that lightweight structures are designed and manufactured - change that can start immediately.

inrekor combines globally-available, industry-standard materials with proven manufacturing processes to create remarkable, ultra lightweight solutions. Fast, design flexibility and rapid prototyping provide near-immediate answers with low investment…

Intelligent and adaptable

LIGHTWEIGHT SOLUTIONS

All transport applications can benefit from reduced weight, to minimise carbon emissions, extend range and increase load capacity. Using inrekor creates a strong lightweight structure that can return 30-40% weight savings with strength and performance enhancements.

By optimising structural sandwich panel technology, inrekor outperforms traditional solutions:

  • High strength and tensility to weight ratios.
  • 100% recyclable materials.
  • Isotropic energy absorption characteristics.
  • Efficient and practical manufacturing process.

DESIGN FLEXIBILITY?

The scalable design and manufacturing possibilities delivered by inrekor technology provide a clear economic advantage to solutions produced in low volumes or requiring multiple variations / dynamic evolution.

  • Programmable tooling and adaptable design
       methodologies
  • Design evolution is fast and modifications/variations
       easily accommodated for manufacture
  • Flexible solutions permit reverse-integration
       to existing systems
  • Customer is elevated to expert inrekor designer
  • Changes to existing CAD files can be rapidly tested

The inrekor approach provides transparency and collaboration with the initial design team: customer concepts (even without existing CAD) are quickly translated to proven solutions. By combining the experience and expertise of problem and solution, results are achieved far more quickly.

Joint specification, tensile layer choices and anti-peel options are identified to produce an optimised design. Structures are built using bonded tongue and groove joints and are positioned to maximise geometric strength bringing massive mechanical enhancement to critical high load points.

Do you need to have

RAPID PROTOTYPING?

Rapid, low-cost and faithful prototypes mean faster, cost effective decisions… Taking a design straight from CAD data, it is possible to produce dependable prototypes in a matter of days. With a near-immediate proof of concept or invaluable lessons learned, there is less project-risk to consider and the likelihood of ensuring progression is increased.

  • Widely understood and consistent
       materials and processes
  • Established FEA data for ARPRO® and
aluminium (or steel) to support analysis
  • Optimum solutions (weight/cost) can be
       tested side by side
  • Results quickly fed back for rapid iteration

inrekor's rapid prototyping enables timelines and costs to be compressed. Critical elements or whole components can be quickly built for dynamic testing. The speed and cost of inrekor prototyping even allows different and hybrid solutions to be investigated with minimal cost implication.

Speed to market with

LOW INVESTMENT

inrekor is a structural technology that is available to all. Little or no investment in specialist tooling means it’s much easier and faster to go from concept to production. There is no cost escalation for low volume and there are very few penalties for design iteration.

  • Using your own CAD outlines…
  • Our technical team will work with you to
       maximise design
  • 80% on-screen performance predictability minimises
       development costs
  • Simple, widely available manufacturing processes
  • Flat-pack design for remote assembly

inrekor solutions are wide-ranging designs from discrete structural components to complete assembly systems with bespoke integrated features.

Designing with inrekor from the outset enables component count reductions (BOM) and manufacture streamlining using ‘panel intelligence’ for ducting air, fluids, cables and simple built-in fastenings.

SPECIALIST STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGY –

A major advantage of inrekor is that complex shapes are easily achievable compared to alternative materials. Even more, the technology is coherent, allowing evolving modifications for manufacture.

FAST DESIGN EVOLUTION –

A 'new' chassis was reverse-integrated to an existing vehicle silhouette. The flexibility of inrekor means that it can deliver a lightweight structure within exceptional design limitations.

LIGHTWEIGHT PERFORMANCE –

Atalanta Motors new 'Revival' model mixes traditional design with lightweight performance and employs the inrekor technology to ensure reliability, performance and safety.

BUILD SIMPLICITY –

inrekor's inherent adaptability enables complex shapes and constructions to be designed and supplied in separate parts, which can then be built in situ to fit even confined spaces.

EXACTING SAFETY STANDARDS –

inrekor's strength and energy absorbing characteristics are key differentiating factors compared to other lightweight materials and enable tough safety criteria to be met.

INNOVATIVE ANSWERS –

Solving Aston Martin Racing’s plan for increased fuel cell protection for its high perfrmance GT Range of road and race cars, required a unique design and construction that only inrekor technology could deliver.

STRETCHING SPECIFICATIONS –

EVs impose the toughest of lightweight specifications, but inrekor's high strength-to-weight ratio and energy absorbing characteristics provide the perfect combination of high safety levels and weight reduction.

INNOVATIVE MANUFACTURING –

Repeatable and efficient build precision is critical to delivering manufacturing business performance. Sympathetic 'design-for-manufacture' and easy, accurate assembly using existing processes are key attributes of inrekor solutions.

CHALLENGING LIMITATIONS –

Weighing around 400kg without the battery pack, the QBEAK is about half the weight of comparable cars in the same category, due to the amazing lightweight inrekor chassis and its impressive technical properties.

About

inrekor

inrekor provide customer design support to develop solutions based on their patented lightweight sandwich technology using tensile layers and an ARPRO® core. The simplicity of this concept should not disguise the big potential that inrekor offers…

inrekor launched in 2010 demonstrating a four-seater vehicle chassis that can reduce weight from 300 kg typical to only 160 kg. This decrease alone would save ~14 gCO2/km on an average vehicle.
